Weekly Learning Plan:  June 22 – June 25
Journal topics - Memories of Kindergarten.
Math review Measurement / Adding / Subtracting /Patterning


Monday



Language Arts:   Journal Topic – Share a memory you have of being in Kindergarten this year.
·      Copy the date into your book. 
·      Skip lines and make sure you have spaces between your words. 
·      Use the word wall to write words conventionally or you can sound out words phonetically.
·      Encourage your child to use upper and lower case letters correctly. No capitals in the middle of a word or at the end of a word.
·      Write about a special memory and draw and colour a picture. (Crayons or pencil crayons no felts)

·      Go to Raz Kids and read out loud daily for 10 minutes. Complete the comprehension questions after.
Math:  Math: Your Choice today! See below and pick one that you did not do on Friday last week and just have more fun!!
·      Measure items using a ruler or measuring tape
·      If it is nice out practice capacity and estimates by filling containers with water. Don’t forget to make your guesses first in writing.
·      Build a teeter-totter and then weigh items for heavier and lighter.
·      Make up a Scavenger Hunt for a family member see if they can find different sized items. (small, medium, large, don’t forget the same 
size)
·      Make up a Scavenger Hunt for a family member see if they can find different weights. (light, lighter, lightest, heavy, heavier, heaviest)
·      Make up a Scavenger Hunt for a family member to find a contain that holds a cup of water, less than a cup of water, more than a cup of water
·      Challenge - Make up your own Scavenger Hunt and send it to me.

Tuesday

Language Arts: Take a sheet of plain paper divide it into thirds. At the top of each section print:
Beginning / Middle /End 
·      Draw something that you did in the beginning of Kindergarten September to December.
·      Then write a sentence about it.
·      Draw and colour a picture of what happens in the “Middle” of Kindergarten January to March.
·      Then write a sentence about it.
·      Draw and colour a picture showing you finishing your Kindergarten year.
·      Write a sentence about it.
·      Put this at the back of your scrapbook.

·      Go to Raz Kids and read out loud for 10 minutes. Complete the comprehension questions after.
Math:  Adding and Subtracting Day
·      Make 10 of your own equations for adding and 10 for subtracting.  (No duplicates allowed to make it more challenging. Example 3+1=4 /3+1=4 down further on your page. No, no, no) 


Wednesday

·      Encourage your child to use upper and lower case letters correctly. No capitals in the middle of a word or at the end of a word.
·      Write about what you would like to do this summer and draw and colour a picture. (Crayons or pencil crayons no felts)
***Now put your journal in the pocket at the end of your scrapbook. Well done!!!!!

·      Go to Raz Kids and read out loud daily for 10 minutes. Complete the comprehension questions after.
Math: Pattern Day
·      Using blocks or caps or lego (any item that has 2 or 3 colours so a variety of patterns can be made)
·      Build as many different patterns as you can the challenge is to try not to have duplicates
·      Example: red/blue/red/blue/red/blue and then you do green/red/green/red/green/red both of these patterns would be ab/ab/ab patterns you would have only changed the colours not made a new pattern
